Lauren Hutcheson

Lauren Ebersole Hutcheson regularly represents defendants and employers in all aspects of civil litigation. She specializes in defending workers’ compensation matters and personal injury litigation. Ms. Hutcheson is an experienced trial lawyer who has successfully tried a number of jury trials in Virginia and has handled a significant number of claims before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission. Ms. Hutcheson currently heads the firm’s workers’ compensation practice and serves on the Steering Committee of the Labor and Employment Practice Group of the American Law Firm Association.

Ms. Hutcheson has been named by Virginia Business as one of Virginia’s Legal Elite in the Young Lawyers’ Division, and by Richmond Magazine as one of Virginia’s rising star SuperLawyers for 2009, 2008, and 2007.

Prior to joining Morris & Morris, Ms. Hutcheson served as law clerk for the 12th Judicial Circuit in Chesterfield County. She worked primarily for the Honorable John F. Daffron, Jr. and the Honorable Michael C. Allen. During this time, Ms. Hutcheson researched various legal issues and assisted in drafting opinions and orders.

Ms. Hutcheson was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree in pre-law from the Pennsylvania State University in 1995. In college, Ms. Hutcheson served as president of the Penn State Equestrian Team, where she successfully competed in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, leading the team to Nationals from 1993 through 1995. After graduating, Ms. Hutcheson remained at Penn State as an assistant coach of the equestrian team for the 1995- 1996 academic year. She then attended the University of Richmond School of Law, graduating in 1999. While at the University of Richmond, Ms. Hutcheson served as a co-chair for the Law School Admissions Representatives.

In her spare time, Ms. Hutcheson enjoys riding and showing horses, as well as playing golf and tennis. She also enjoys watching Penn State football.
